This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to be an integral part of the team at our Dimlington terminal. Reporting directly to the Onshore Operations Engineer you will manage and supervise a multi-disciplined team of technicians to maintain the integrity and safety of the gas terminal. This position is responsible for managing maintenance scheduling and resources to ensure all maintenance is carried out on time, to the required standard, and does not go into backlog.

The successful candidate will be working a 2 week on 2 week off rotation of 12 hour shifts with 21 days holiday.

Key responsibilities include

• Lead a team of multi discipline technicians, to maintain the integrity and safety of the terminal, minimising outages and maximising the plant availability.
• Prioritise maintenance tasks and ensure suitably qualified staff and spares are available.
• Attend terminal leadership meetings on a daily basis and weekly planning and safety meetings.
• Provide focal point for all day-to-day maintenance activities on the site.
• Demonstrate safety leadership to all terminal staff.
• Be aware of all terminal Major Accident Hazards and on site activity.
• Ensure the maintenance team delivers the expected standards of safety and work control, that all safety policies and procedures are adhered to, and that adequate preparation has been completed for all tasks.
• Organise and lead safety meetings within team and with other teams.
• Carry out compliance audits in accordance with the terminal QSHE plan
• Manage maintenance staff leave, sickness, temporary assignments and training requirements to maintain an appropriate skill set and manning levels at all times.
• Act as coach and mentor to direct reports. Carry out performance reviews of all direct reports and agree training and development plans.
• Ensure completion of maintenance team PCAP competency profiles. Identify skill shortages and provide training to address this.
• Liaise with and manage the requirements of the PUK integrity team and their inspectors, such that inspection activities are efficiently executed, and that system outages are optimised/minimised. This will require considerable attention and input to short, medium and long term plans.
• Monitor and control maintenance backlogs to keep within agreed tolerances. Forecast, plan and manage upcoming maintenance tasks, validate and prioritise MAXIMO corrective workorders. Check completed MAXIMO workorders to confirm correct and full completion.
• Identify and control any specialist or contract labour required to complete non-core tasks. Monitor quality of vendor services supplied for breakdown and maintenance tasks

• HNC (or higher) in an Engineering subject preferred but not essential
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role within the Oil and Gas industry or similar industrial experience.
• Experience working within permit controlled environment (P2W or ISSOW) required.
• Good IT skills with the ability to use computer based systems and software applications. Knowledge of Maximo maintenance management system an advantage.
• Natural leader in a team environment. Previous line management experience would be an advantage
• Demonstrates a commitment to safety and environmental performance.
• Consistently pro-active in achieving terminal KPI's and enhancing equipment reliability.
• Good proven written and verbal communication skills, able to easily adapt and communicate with wider workforce and management.
• Effective trouble-shooter in resolving plant and equipment outages.
